There are seasons when God feels close and unmistakable. His direction feels clear. Prayer feels responsive. You move with confidence because you feel guided.
And then there are seasons where God feels quiet, even though life does not slow down.
Bills still need to be paid. Decisions still need to be made. People still depend on you. Waiting forever is not an option, yet you do not feel the same clarity you once did.
This is where faith matures.
God’s silence is not abandonment. It is often an invitation into responsibility. An invitation to trust that what He has already given you is enough for this season.
Proverbs tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, but it also promises that He will direct our paths. Direction does not always come as instruction. Sometimes it comes as wisdom that has been formed over time.
There are moments when God does not give a clear answer because He is not interested in managing every choice for you. He is developing discernment. He is allowing you to practice obedience without needing constant confirmation.
This does not mean you move recklessly. It means you move prayerfully, thoughtfully, and humbly. You acknowledge God in your decisions, even when the next step is not obvious.
Faith in these seasons looks less dramatic and more grounded. It looks like choosing integrity when no one is watching. Choosing peace over panic. Choosing obedience even when reassurance is absent.
Silence does not mean you are alone. It often means you are trusted.
