Sometimes the Hardest Part of Faith Is Letting Go of Control

Control often disguises itself as responsibility. Planning ahead. Anticipating outcomes. Preparing for every possible scenario. It feels wise and even faithful, until it becomes heavy.
Many people are not struggling with a lack of faith. They are struggling with the fear of releasing control.
Letting go does not mean doing nothing. It means recognizing what was never yours to manage in the first place. It means releasing the need to predict outcomes while remaining obedient in the present.
Proverbs tells us that a person may plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. Planning is not the issue. Control is believing that planning guarantees certainty.
Control creates tension because it asks you to carry responsibility for outcomes that belong to God. It keeps your mind busy and your spirit restless.
Faith does not remove uncertainty. It teaches you how to live with it without being consumed by it.
Surrender is not passivity. It is an active trust. It is choosing obedience while loosening your grip on results.
Peace often begins where control ends. Not because life becomes predictable, but because trust becomes deeper.
